Community Colleges play an important role in the higher education landscape. While most people think of the traditional residential 4-year college experience, today more than 10 million students (approximately 40 percent of all undergraduates) are enrolled in community colleges in the U.S.
You may remember back in 2011 when we partnered with the League of Innovation and offered the Getting Connected Grant to eight Community Colleges. After an exciting year of research we’ve decided to create a new program to expand our research to 12 more community colleges from 2013-2016.
After the initial success we’ve seen at a variety of community colleges across the country, we’ve decided to expand our offerings to 12 more community colleges “Get Engaged: Community College Retention in the Social Media Era.”
Institutions must be public or private non-profit US-based community colleges, with a student body comprised of at least 25% Pell grant recipients and must offer programs of at least two, but less than four years.
Applications are due Monday, April 1, at 5:00pm PST.
